Wild Red Poppy and Cultivated Pink poppy.
My little camera isn’t really great at capturing the nuances and differences between these colours, but the flower on the left is exactly like all of the poppies in the fields and along the roadsides leading to the castle. I don’t want it in the garden here. It’s a hot red that I just don’t like. The pinky/violet red poppy on the right is from seeds I brougt back from the UK years ago, but I don’t really want that colour either. What I love are the softer colours like the poppies in the next blog - or best of all - pure white!
